Monster Man-Eating Catfish Caught in Guangdong
Each year, a few people will be drowned mysteriously in Huadu's Furong Reservoir. It was not until recently when the son of a certain official went swimming in the reservoir with his friend and were drowned that the secret was unravelled!
Because this was a huge incident, and the local government was afraid of the impact on local tourism, they imposed an embargo on the news, but people came away with these pictures taken on their cell phones of the man-eating fish!
Swimming in the reservoir is now forbidden because it is feared another similar man-eating catfish is still lurking in the waters.

现在水库已经严禁有人下水，为恐会有另一条同类的唐蚤鱼在水中！
Update (Aug 15): Some readers have already raised doubts saying this is a whale shark (鲸鲨) instead. The whale shark, according to Wikipedia, which believed to have originated about 60 million years ago, is the largest living fish species on the world and lives in the open sea. Find a pic of whale shark on above, now you decide for yourself the killed monster more like a 30cm catfish or a 3 meter whale shark.

Why they blamed that thing would prolly be because they can't find the reason behind the mysterious drownings, thus find something big, and put the blame on it. Poor thing.

If something cannot be explained, people put the blame on something/someone. That definitely is a whale shark.

if you look at the picture that shows the gill slits you can tell it is a whale shark. catfish do not have gill slits. no fish does. only sharks. this is a fake picture

I don't think that's a catfish. It does look more like a whale shark. Probably just wanted an excuse to take the responsibility off themselves for letting folks swim in the resevoir without a lifeguard on duty.

that is a whale shark and it eats the same stuff as a blue whale. It's completely harmless and lives in the ocean. what a waste of life....they had better eat it.
