Dancing Cebu Prisoners
Two years ago, a video of 1,500 dancing prisoners from Cebu, Philippines in orange jumpsuits doing a beat-for-beat remake of Michael Jackson's classic video "Thriller" was the ultimate viral video. It's funny and weird, and the exotic location -- Cebu Prison -- adds to its appeal.

The jail "Thriller" remake , uploaded to YouTube in 2007, has been viewed 23 million times by far, and was such a hit that it received mainstream coverage in the Philippines and abroad, even landing on the pages of Time magazine as one of the Top 10 viral videos of the year. Here is another video: Philippine Prisoners Remake Anime Dance 'Hare Hare Yukai' .

Recently, the Cebu inmates are back with their lastest mass dance to Jai Ho from Slumdog Millionaire.

Over a thousand prisoners from the maximum security prison have all learned the steps to this song and dance in unison.

In case you're wondering why these prisoners are dancing, it's not a punishment but a means for them to exercise their mind and body. These dance routines are the brainchild of prison chief Byron F. Garcia who uploads the footage to YouTube.
